Sew What

Dear Blog, right now I'm feeling like you're my journal and I don't want to write because I have too many things to write about. But, I did something tonight that I laughed about so all the pending posts...I might get to later. So I've been thinking about getting a sewing machine. Ya, my wants come and go but I keep going back to getting a sewing machine. I kinda started getting annoyed with thinking about this because I have never been interested in making anything from scratch. Why not buy a new purse instead of making one, why not buy a costume instead of trying to put something together...I'm not doggin on anyone that likes to do it, I'm just not patient and nothing is more convenient than picking something ready to be used. So I've been entertaining this idea with Kyle the last few weeks and we have researched them online and at a few stores. Kyle thinks it would be fun for me to have a hobby (because I really have zero right now).

So we went to Hancock Fabric tonight, a few minutes before it closed, and picked up a sewing machine and fabric for our Halloween costumes. I don't know how much a yard will get me but I got a few of each. It's better to have more than not enough right? I didn't know what I really needed to start using a sewing machine so I hope black or white spools of thread is it. So we were in and out of the store within minutes. As I was walking to the car I started giggling. It was almost like I went to the store to get some milk or something I forgot yet I got a sewing machine and supposedly everything I needed for both Kyle and I's costume. We'll see how this turns out. And wish me luck. If anyone has patience to teach me the basics it would be great. I learned them when I was 12 but unfortunately, I remember little.

my sewing machine sits in a spare bedroom with my elliptical and all my scrapbooking supplies. yeah..that room doesn't get used much. every time i need to sew something, i have to read the manual over again to even remember how to thread the machine. it's fun to use it though bc i feel all self sufficient and stuff!

You've been reading my blog haven't you!?
I made a blanket Monday night. Sometimes sewing stuff costs about the same as buying it from the store, but it's fun when I get to tell people that I made it instead of where I bought it from.
